Can we disable fixed asset categories if some fixed assets are still linked to those?

Hi,

I am using Oracle Applications : 12.1.3

I have been asked to disable fixed asset categories but some of these asset categories are still linked to fixed assets in use in my Fixed Assets Book. Moreover some still have a net book value.

Would that not cause any issue if I disable those asset categories for which I still have fixed assets in use? For example during depreciation or during any update of those fixed assets?
