KVM failed to start after ODA upgrade from 18.8 to 19.6

in Oracle Database Appliance (MOSC) 2 comments

Hi ,

I am posting this only for informational purpose.

Yesterday we had patched our ODA X7-2M (Baremetal) machine from 18.8 to 19.6 both OS and Server patch was successful, But after ODA Server patched when I tired to start KVM machine I encounter below error.

[[email protected] oak]# virsh list --all

Id Name State

------------------------------

- vm_adhoc shut off

- vm_ucastest shut off

[[email protected] oak]# virsh start vm_adhoc

error: Failed to start domain vm_adhoc

error: Cannot check QEMU binary /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm: No such file or directory,


After working with Oracle Support I came to know it was know issue and require below steps to fix above KVM issue
