span id of many controls have changed after applying siebel patchset 20.11

Hi Team,

We recently updated our system from Siebel 20.2 to Siebel 20.11.

After the upgraded, we could see that the span id of many controls have been updated. (appended with _1).

Impact:

we have custom JS files which refer to these span ids and since these are updated, the JS files doesn't work anymore.

Upon inspecting there is no change in Applet web template items and web templates related to the changed objects.

Question:

We need to understand why is this updated.

Where to manually set the span id value for a control.
