Purpose of process oracle_20503_v1 ?

Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production

OpenSUSE (64-bit) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP5

I'm seeing the following process, with which I am unfamiliar, and I would like to understand it's purpose because it's hitting CPU pretty hard:
