Does FA Archive process remove non-retired asset data?

We are using Oracle EBS Fixed Assets, version 12.1.3 and are looking into the Archive and Purge Process. According to the documentation: "The purge program removes the depreciation expense and adjustment transaction records for the book and year you specify. However, it does not remove the asset identification, financial, and assignment information for your assets, including assets you retired or that became fully reserved during that fiscal year."

Does this mean that it only removes depr. and adj. transaction records for retired fully reserved assets? If an asset has not yet been retired, does the transaction records remain or get archived and purged?
