Is there a way to set the PO Type to a specific Value base on Origin?

Currently we generate our direct connect POs via the PO_AUTO_SRC process. When created these POs have the PO_HDR.PO_TYPE set to "GEN". Is there a configuration for this process to set the PO_TYPE based on PO_HDR.ORIGIN? Currently the ORIGIN for direct connect POs is "DCN". We we do not want to change the application engine to do this if possible. Any help or information would be appreciated.
