How to set up an accrual DBA that is based on pay periods left in the year
For employees hired during the year, the number of hours of PTO is assigned based on employee hire date. Basically, if the employee was hired in January or February, they get 40 hours; March or April, they'll get 32 hours, May or June they'll get 24 hours, etc. The hours are granted after a probation period of 90 days, but there are exceptions where an employee can get PTO right away. No problem in setting this one up.
The problem occurs because the dollars associated with the hours granted need to be accrued in the GL based on the number of pay periods left in the year.
