Certified JDK version for Oracle Dev Suite 10g

We are currently working our way to R12.2.x, our production is R12.1.3. I got a feedback that we need to upgrade the JRE/JDK 1.4.2_42 that is installed for our Oracle Dev Suite 10g due to security vulnerability. What is the version that I could replace it with? Could I upgrade it to 1.7?
