Customer Asset ID Tagging with JDE

We want to define a capability to support assignment and tracking of customer-provided asset IDs / tags to outbound sales order items. A breakdown of the example process is as follows.

1. Client purchase and receives products from supplier that have serial numbers (laptops, iPads, etc.) but serial numbers are not tracked in receiving/inventory
2. Customer places sales order to purchase the product
3. Customer has a requirement that when shipping the product, the client must assign an asset ID/tag (label, etc.) to the product which uniquely identifies the item for the customer
   1. The asset ID/tag that must be assigned has unique logic / numbering schemes by customer
