Custom Buttons/Programs on On Demand Event Maintenance

We have rules regarding deduction begin dates that are outside of delivered event rule functionality. As a result, we need to update BAS_PARTIC_PLAN with new dates when an event is in Open/Prepared status. We also need to adjust the dates depending on which HSA plan is selected once the event is in Open/Entered status. We can do this through batch processing, however, has anyone added buttons, remote calls for custom programs to On Demand Event Maintenance? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
