Error Fund allocations in Contract

In Project contract in Fund Allocations window I am getting an Error 'You cannot create fund allocations on different contract lines with the same Project or tasks when the Detailed Project Billing check box is enabled

when I tried to disable the Detailed Project Billing check box at the Project contract header level in the Billing section, it says field is protected against update

Please advise ASAP
