Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. MOSC will now require that member accounts in our community be associated to a *corporate* email address. Database - RAC/Scalability (MOSC)

To SWITCHOVER a RAC (12.2) 2 nodes to standalone standby, do I have to shutdown one RAC instance ?

It is a oracle 12.2 version and I don't have DATAGUARD configured. It is a manual switchover to a standalone standby.

I saw some docs that do not shutdown one instance on the RAC and other they do.

Do I have to shutdown one instance?
