Can you export filtered data from an interactive report to excel

I would like to be able to export the filtered data from an interactive report to excel. I found a similar question in an old thread and it seems it was not possible then. Am wondering if there have been updates to BI since that to allow for this to be done or if you can still only export the top level data.
