MASS ASSIGNMENT CHANGE

We just found out that we need to change the assignment status on every employee once an appropriate amount of time has passed from Inactive - Payroll Eligible to Inactive - Payroll Ineligible. Instead of doing this one by one---is there a way to create a mass change for this? I went in to check but selecting inactive employees was not an option, nor was there an option to update the termination record.
