unable to up drive in SL150

I have several SL150 units that have recently ran into issues. They are connected to Solaris 11 servers via fiber cables and were all working until recently. When I check the drives using Netbackup Java Console the drives are present but I can't UP the drives and make them come online and running robot diagnostics fails. Yhe problem presents itself as if there is no communication between the server and the drive. Has anyone ran into this problem before and know how to resolve it? I'm also running the latest firmware on the tape drives.
