Configuration Options for Redirecting Negative Hours to a Different Absence Take?

My organization is exploring options on redirecting hours (that would cause a PTO Entitlement balance to go negative) to a different absence take. For example, we have a PTO bucket for Longer Service Vacation, we successfully configured the Absence Take type Longer Service Vacation, to send negative hours to the Vacation Take, by selecting the "Take with Other Absence" option on the Negative Balances tab (Absence Takes page).

After running the Takes Cycle, the balances for both Longer Service and Vacation were decremented correctly, however, when reviewing how these earnings would pay out on the Results by Calendar page, the hours were sent to the Longer Service earnings code, and not the Vacation earnings code as we had expected.
