SmartView 11.1.2.5.520 disappears from Excel ribbon

SmartView 11.1.2.5.520 is installed on a clients local device. It will work initially but after opening additional files, the add-in disappears from the Excel ribbon. Has anyone heard of this happening? What could be causing it and how do we remedy the problem? The HKCU setting is set as shown here.
