HFM journal replacing custom member in JE during load and save

I am trying to load an HFM journal file that has a custom dimension member referenced in the load file. When the file is loaded the custom member shown in the application is different from the member in the load file.

I have also created creating the journal through manage journals. I assign the custom member desired (which is a valid custom dimension member). The journal appears as I want it, but when I click save the custom4 dimension member is replaced with a random custom4 member.

This is HFM 11.1.2.4, running Windows OS and SQL DB.

Anyone encounter a similar issue and / or have suggestions on how to fix this?
