Monitoring of Tablespace IO

My database once had a performance issue, the cause seem to be related to IO performance. From AWR report, I see Av Rd(ms) can be as high as several hundreds of ms.

The root cause to the IO performance issue is not found yet. The performance issue does not happen at the moment.

I want to detect the issue earlier in case it happens again.

I am considering adding a monitoring on Av Rd(ms). What is the suitable metric to use to set in DBMS_SERVER_ALERT.SET_THRESHOLD(...) ?

Or is there a better monitoring that I can do ?
