Patch 123648-05 does not install completely

in Oracle Solaris Installation, Booting and Patching (MOSC) 1 comment

I tried installing 123648-05 patch for Solaris for getting the latest version of libgcc_s.so.1

(Output of uname -a) SunOS solaris10u11.us.oracle.com 5.10 Generic_148889-02 i86pc i386 i86pc

The patch installation is incomplete. I get the following error:

The following requested patches have packages not installed on the system

Package SUNWgccS from directory SUNWgccS in patch 123648-05 is not installed on the system. Changes for package SUNWgccS will not be applied to the system.

The following requested patches are already installed on the system.

Requested patch 123648-05 is already installed on the system.

Changes related to SUNWgccS is not installing, as a result I have an old version of libgcc_s.so.1.
