Best solution to connect FDMEE to SAP without using third party adaptors

I am in the process of upgrading to 11.2.3. My current environment is 11.1.2.4 and we use Bristlecone adaptor to connect to SAP ECC.

Do we still need to depend on Bristlecone and other third party adaptors to move to 11.2.3. Do we have an option to integrate FDMEE directly with SAP ECC and pull the data from there.

Looking for a best solution to opt out the adaptors.
