Duplicate Legal Entity Identifier

Good Morning Experts,

We are required to configure a duplicate Legal Entity in a new Ledger under the same Territory, eventually the Legal Entity in the old ledger will become obsolete and will be end dated.

I would like to know if it is possible to create the duplicate Legal Entity in the new Ledger with the same Legal Entity Identifier.

Currently when I attempt to do so I get an error "This Registration Number already exists".

Is there a solution or a way around it?

Any Assistance will be greatly appreciated.
