cross platform (big/little endian) logical standby limitations

Hello expert,

I have found below doc from metalink which says in a nutshell that cross platform logical standby is possible only within same endian format.For example plaform_id 2 [Solaris[tm] OE (64-bit)]

supports 6[AIX-Based Systems (64-bit)] and both has big endian format.

If my understanding is correct then redo data is used by log miner in standby side and SQL is applied for logical standby.Then why it can not handle cross platform SQL apply?

No where I have found this explanation just a straight forwards statement not supported.

I know this is product specific question but at least we should have valid justification.
