How to reverse employee referral payment

Hi, we are using the recruiting employee referral process to track and pay employee referrals through payroll. We are new to this process and have only completed two payrolls with referral bonuses. We have completed all the IB steps successfully to notify recruiting of the payment and update the expense on the job req. The payment process works very well.
However, it was discovered the incorrect person was paid and now we need to reverse the payment from payroll.
If we reverse the paycheck in payroll will it also notify recruiting (after running the IB process to notify recruiting) the payment was reversed, and update the Administer Referrals page and also remove the expense from the Job Req?
