How do you convert default srvctl database type from 'RAC' to 'Single'?

I have seen a post in this community group that stated by default srvctl with installed clusterware defaults the database type to 'RAC'. I have found the syntax to change the database type to 'Single', but this command states that the -node option must be supplied. I supplied the instance name of decs. Of course, since it isn't a RAC database, it finds no such node to add.
