Terminating a Finance Lease

Hi Community -

We are trying to terminate a Finance Lease and the Recalculate Lease Liability is being updated to a 1 not a 2 as expected. The process worked fine for operating lease. This is the first finance lease we are terminating. Is the process different for a Finance lease than an Operation lease?

What we did:

  • needed to change the B/U on the existing lease so we added a new asset for the new B/U
  • Added the new asset to the existing lease
  • change the end date in the Recurring Billings
  • check the Amortization schedule and the only option is to Remeasure (Recalculate Lease Liability flag is set to 1)
