Is database switchover back from higher version to lower version supported?

Customer has faced some issue during the switchover back database from new version ( updated first apply syandby ) to old version ( old primary ) . 

I need some information about is Dataguard switchover back supported from new version to old version ?

only minor Db version changes (Psu-BP Level) 

Example :

Primary : 11.2.0.4.8 

than switchover back to 

Standby : 11.2.0.4.6
