ASCP suggesting excess supplies with DRP as Demand Schedule

Hi All,

We have 1 manufacturing plant A which supplies spare parts and finished goods to 2 warehouses.

A --> WH1

A --> WH2

Consider a spare part - Battery and 1 finished good Cell Phone.

We have DRP running for WH1 and WH2 and DRP plan is fed as demand schedule to ASCP Plan running at Plant A. WH1 received a demand (SO) for spare part Battery. As on-hand was not available in WH1, DRP applied inventory rebalancing rules, triggered IR-ISO process to received on-hand from WH2. No new planned orders were generated in WH1. This is fine.

However when we run ASCP plan (DRP plan as demand schedule), it is suggesting new planned orders for the spare part (Battery) and firm IR is pegged to excess. Why is this so? How to stop such a behavior? We want to send true demand to ASCP so that it can manage raw material supplies.

Howdy, Stranger!
