Open VMS & Oracle Client Compitability

Hello,

We have just upgraded from Oracle 11g (11.2.0.4 to 12c (12.2.0.1). We also have a system running OpenVMS 8.3, using the client 8.1.7. This was connecting fine under 11g. But, once we upgraded to 12c, the application on OpenVMS no longer connects to the database.

Some strange error messages:

Error - ORA-03137: malformed TTC packet from client rejected: [kpoal8Check-5] [0] [0x000000000] [0x000000000] [0] [0] [265256] []

Error - ORA-03138: Message 3138 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=ORA

Error - ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE

Is there an updated client for OpenVMS? Or, perhaps another solution?
