Excel Slow to Save with Smart View

We were on Excel 2016 and Smart View .720 and able to save a 12MB file within a minute.

Once we upgraded to Office 365 and the latest version of Smart View (.9xx), the same file takes 25 minutes to save.

When we un-install Smart View, the file saves within a minute so it seems to be an issue with SV.

We've tried all various Smart View Options for improving performance, but nothing is helping the save times.

Has anyone seen this before and have a solution for this issue?
