TRACKING TAG NUMBER AND BARCODE/QR CODE IN ORACLE EBS 12.1.3

Dear Team,

Since we do not have standard functionality in Oracle EBS to generate Tag Numbers and Barcode/QR Code. We are planning to customized the solution for this purpose.

Just wanted to clarify;

  1. Can we use Tag Number and Barcode/QR Code with same details OR Barcode/QR Code should have more details than the Tag Numbers. What is the best practice.
  2. How can we store Barcode/QR Code against each Asset record in EBS once it is generated through our custom solution. Can we store it as an attachment. What is the best practice.

Please advise.
