Supplemental Data use case

Hi, using JDE 9.2. I have used supplemental data years ago and before requesting the security for it in my organization, I just want to make sure it will be a good solution to my requirement.

Our planners want to store a "target stock" quantity for each manufactured item so that we can report on on-hand vs. target stock. Just a field to store a qty in for each item at the item/branch level.

From what I'm reading in 848276.1 and what I remember, supplemental data is perfect. Agree?

Any set up tips would be appreciated...narrative? Purchasing Supplemental Date Type I'm guessing?
