Oracle JDK/JRE in GoldenGate for Oracle 19.1

I am trying to identify the usage of Oracle JDK on our servers due to licensing requirement. We try to use only OpenJDK, not Oracle JDK.

I noticed that GoldegenGate for Oracle 19.1 comes with Oracle JRE:

/..../fbo_ggs_Linux_x64_shiphome/Disk1/stage/bootstrap/jre


Does anyone know if GoldenGate for Oracle needs JDK/JRE and if yes, can it run with OpenJDK?

I have seen GoldenGate generated ".oracle_jre_usage" folder on one server.

Our server runs in Ubuntu 16.04. GG for Oracle on the server only has a replicat which writes data (from extract files on the same server) directly to a remote Oracle target database.
