Life Events - Tracking Cancelled Life events in PeopleSoft

How are organizations auditing life event activity guides that are cancelled by users through Self Service? We have found that users will submit an event, then the same day cancel it, which removes it from On Demand, and then call us to ask why the changes are not there. We are guessing they cancelled the life event activity guide, but have not found a delivered way to track that yet?
