PFC to Hide Currency Field on Add Quick Expense Fluid

Hello! We are trying to take advantage of PFC by using it to hide the Currency Code field on MyWallet/Add Quick Expense page. However, it appears to only be hiding it "sometimes". Our developer looked into this and found delivered code that is forcing this field to appear after Expense Type is selected on the page. Any idea on why this code would be there? Why wouldn't PFC allow us to hide this field? Thanks, Amber
