Link to a record from a dashboard

I am creating a project level dashboard using Active Task Information in a Data Cube. I would like to be able to link to the record. When I hover over the record number it tells me to Click to Open Record, and it appears to be trying to open the record, but does not. (The URL appears on the bottom of the screen). It acts like a popup blocker, but I am able to link to the record in other views. Is this blocking because Active Tasks links to multiple bps? Or for some other reason?
