Is Oracle Database Client needed when installing JDE database in a separate server?

I am installing a new set of JDE 9.2 system and in my setup Enterprise Server and Database Server is 2 separate server. I want to confirm that when I run the platform pack in the Linux server to install the database, is Oracle Database client needed? Thanks.
