Change of useful life after reclassifying asset

Hi,


Please assist does the useful life change to a new one, after the asset was reclassified.? Eg old category useful life is 10yrs , then the new one is 7 years. We expect the new use life to be 7 yrs after reclassification.

In our system is not changing, even if has been change on Asset category setup. What is the standard process?
