Hello All,

Could anyone let me know how the UPC code gets generated.

I went through the Doc 625609.1, but still I have few questions

Below is my understanding:

It is a 13 digit code (First seven digits are from the UDC 41 / UC (But how do we know which UDC Code to be used from the list of values) ) and the next six digits are the packaging indicator values (PI 1 to PI 8) (But here we have 8 PI Codes and we have only 6 digits , so how is the mapping done). Also, could anyone explain in detail about the check digit.
