RAC nodes GRID HOME software different patch level and different version - info gather

Hi

We have 4-node 12.2 RAC on Linux RHEL 7.6


Both the GRID_HOME and DB_HOME are a plain vanilla 12.2.0.1 homes, we dont have any ReleaseUpdate patches applied as of now.


We are planning to apply the APR2021 RU to the GRID_HOME and DB_HOME separately.


Due to not having a test environment and standby for the database, we had to apply it on the production RAC directly.


So the questions:

1. Can we apply the APR2021 RU to only 2 of the nodes GRID_HOME and other 2 nodes GRID_HOME kept at the 12.2.0.1 base level? Doing so will we have any issues?
