Controlling the shipment status

Hello

Is there a way to control the shipment status. I am trying to use P4205 to hard commit lots and not relieve inventory. I understand that part, but I do not want the status to move from 27 to 30. I would like the shipment status to stay at 27 until we use another version of P4205 to ship confirm the order and relieve inventory and then take the status to 30. Is this possible?
