In a RAC environment do I need to create a listener to EBusiness Suite Database?

in Technology Stack - EBS (MOSC) Question

Document "Using Oracle 12c Release 1 (12.1) Real Application Clusters with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 (Doc ID 1626606.1)"

contains following:

"4.4.2 Listener Requirements for AutoConfig

AutoConfig supports use of either a named VIP database listener, or the named VIP database listener along with the SCAN listeners. Usage of CRS Grid Listener for database connections is not supported."

I'd like to know if I can use the clusterware listener which listens clusterware vip (default port 1521) or if I must use a different listener in order to be compliant with autoconfig.

If I need to use a different listener , I'd like to know why ?
