Changing Smart View URL in Existing Files Systematically

Has anyone found a systematic way to change the URL stored in a Smart View file saved on users local or network drives?

We are changing our URL and want to provide as smooth of a transition as possible for the end users.

We are able to push out the new URL in the Smart View settings file using Group Policy so newly created Smart View files will use the new URL. We are also using DNS to redirect the old URL to the new URL at the network level to provide consistent service to the saved files.

I'm wondering if anyone has done a systematic URL replacement on existing URL's stored in worksheets saved before the change.
