Direct Update on Inventory Transaction Type

Dear All,

We are using EBS 12.1.2. DB 11.2.0.4.

We defined new transaction types in inventory. We need to enable and disable these transaction types on specific days.

We will create procedure to do that, we need to update MTL_TRANSACTION_TYPES DISABLE_DATE column (Inactive On field).

Can we just update this tables column directly?

Or,

We must use API to update this tables column? if yes, what is the name of this API and how to use it.
