can you tell me if RHL5 and RHL7 can coexist on different Nodes of different types in the same 11gR2 RAC.

I need advice. I have a Oracle 11gR2 RAC on RHL 5 two node old HP blades that are well over their end of life support and maintenance. As high priority task I need to upgrade this cluster with new blades on RHL7. I also have the option of moving to virtual machines on VMware if needs be. Please advise on best strategy to achieve required outcome with no outages to databases on RAC. I have looked at adding new blades with RHL7 as new Nodes to existing cluster and dropping off old ones in rolling upgrade fashion but I
