APEX18.2->20.2-upgrade-Select list- List of Values (LOV) using function body returning SQL query

We are in the process of upgrading from 18.2 to 20.2 and team reported that one of the LOVs whose SQL is derived from a function body that worked in 18.2 is not working in 20.2. One need to go to developer, 're-create ' and then it works. Is this a known issue? Function based SQL as a LOV does not work on select list when upgraded?
