Account site removal

Hi all, if we remove an account site from a specific OU the party site will be removed/set to inactive as well and all account sites assigned to other OU's are gone too. Is there any way to only remove an account site for a specific OU? During removal process Oracle even states ".. would you like to remove the account site..." and does not mention any party site impact. Is this a bug? Thanks
