Move the source of a Gold Image Agent

Environment: Enterprise Manager 13.4 with latest RU patches applied.

I have a linux VM which is where I apply the latest agent patches. This agent installation serves as the basis for my Gold Agent image. Whenever a new agent patch is released which I want to use, I apply it to the agent installation on this VM, create a new Gold Agent image version, and then propagate it to all other subscribed agents.

My linux VM is going away.

How do I create a new base image and get all the existing subscriptions over to it? I staged the existing version of the image to my OMS and tried creating a new base image from that, but I am unable to subscribe my agents to it.
