Is there any agency in the community using self service Open Enrollment similar to Life Events?
Our Open Enrollment period is in the month of October (1st thru 31st) for coverage begin date of January 1st of the following year (Example, OE period October 2021 for Coverage Begin Date January 1, 2022).
Because the OE period is two months prior to the OE event date, this causes a lot of out of sequence events which need to be processed manually.
To minimize the processing of out of sequence events, we are considering to create a customization where self-service users can prepare/submit their own Open Enrollment Event without running the actual PSPBARUN COBOL program (but only online COBOL call) similar to eBenefits Life Events enrollment. This will avoid having to run the batch process to prepare the OE event ahead of time for the entire population. Only those employees who are making benefits changes will have an OE event, thus reducing the number of out of sequence events.
