BI Publisher Data Extraction

Hello,

I have a requirement to create a report to display GL balances (Opening & Closing) and YTD Period Activity for a given ledger & period.

While some of the ledgers are manageable, some have heaps of data. When I run BI publisher (using custom report), the data extraction time in logs is showing as approximately 20 mins (for 800k records).

Is there a way to improve the performance here?

Note: I am not talking about amount of time query is taking to generate the data.
